UCLA Volunteer Center Goes Live!

September 22nd, 2009 admin No comments

UCLATroutco is thrilled to announce the full launch of the new UCLA Volunteer Center.

Troutco director Larry Deckel has been working for nearly a year with David Bloome, Campaign Director of the newly launched UCLA Volunteer Center, on his quest to build “a community of heroes” at UCLA.

The result of this campaign includes a state-of-the-art, dynamic website, rich with videos, real-time photo publishing, dynamic content updated on every visit, volunteer journals, feeds, tweets, and all manner of information connecting UCLA students, faculty, alumni, and the community at large to the power of volunteerism.

The campus has been completely energized, manifesting itself today with UCLA’s first Volunteer Day event, where an army of nearly 5,000 students at 26 different project sites are producing amazing impact:  Documented in real-time via photos, videos, and journals from the volunteers themselves, who are discovering what it’s like being a hero in your community. Check out the MapRoom to see the breadth of the work accomplished in this phenomenal day of change!

Kudos and congrats to everyone on the development team, and a tip of the hat to the inspirational David Bloome whose vision underlies everything!  And UCLA students — you rock!!!
