Disney’s “Give a Day. Get a Disney Day.” program

December 3rd, 2009 admin No comments

In a nutshell: DisneyParks.com is giving away 1,000,000 passes to Disneyland and Disneyworld to reward volunteers who register on their site to give a day of volunteer service. HandsOn Network is working with nonprofits, schools, faith-based organizations, Healthcare Organizations, to distribute their volunteer needs through its custom-built search engine of qualified, verifiable volunteer opportunities for the program.  The program will be available in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and Canada!

Here’s how YOU can be a part of it:

Volunteers: Full information on the program can be found on the DisneyParks.com website.  You can pre-register for information, but search and sign-up for qualifying opportunities begins on January 1, 2010.  The first million people who volunteer for an opportunity through the site, earn a Disney Day as a thank you.   Click here for full program information. One ticket per volunteer. A household of up to eight can volunteer together and each earn a pass.

Organizations: What a great opportunity for you to reward your regular volunteers and to recruit tons of new ones.  All you have to do is register your organization for the program at HandOn Network’s Volunteer Opportunity Portal, and post your volunteer opportunities through their easy-to-use technology.  (Users of certain syndicated Volunteer Management Systems automatically have their opportunities appear, once they opt-into the program – couldn’t be easier).   All you have to agree to do beyond that, is to verify the attendance of volunteers within 72 hours of their date of service.  Click here for program details. Or skip the fine print and get registered today.  Click here to register your organization and its volunteer opportunities to qualify for the program. What a great way to reward your volunteers!

Troutco is pleased to be playing an extensive part in working with HandsOn Network and DisneyParks is designing the technology to connect so many volunteers to so many opportunities –  and allowing everyone to celebrate the joy of volunteer service!

Get the word out! Tell your favorite nonprofit organizations to register! We want opportunities to appear from every city and every neighborhood.  And don’t forget to sign-up to volunteer starting January 1st.
