Troutco launches volunteer recruitment for 2010 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books

January 10th, 2010 admin 2 comments

Saturday and Sunday, April 24 and 25, 2010

Troutco is pleased to announce that volunteer recruitment and online sign-up are now available for L.A.’s fifteenth annual “Los Angeles Times Festival of Books.”

Larry Deckel, and his consulting firm of Troutco have proudly served as Volunteer Coordinator for the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books for thirteen consecutive years!  We’re looking forward to having our many loyal volunteers join us once again for the largest and most successful celebration of the written word in the United States, held on the campus of UCLA in Westwood, California.

Last year over 130,000 people attended the Festival, which featured almost one hundred ticketed author events, children’s storytelling, poetry readings, book signings and nearly 500 exhibitor booths.  The Festival’s success has been due in part to the generous assistance of volunteers who welcomed attendees, assisted with registration, staffed author events, supervised book signings and much more.

To sign up as a volunteer for this year’s Festival — please visit the volunteer sign-up page at www.troutco.com/fob/

Looking forward to your joining us this year as a volunteer for this terrific and fun community event.

If you can’t volunteer — mark your calendar!  This event is free and worth attending – no matter how far away you live.

Popular Culture – “The Juggler”

February 9th, 2009 admin 3 comments

This has been floating around for a year I’m told — but only recently got forwarded to me. Maybe juggling isn’t as popular as it once was… but this is a pretty amazing display. Worth four minutes of your time – particularly if you enjoy the Beatles.
